About Us
Kitchens at the Lake founder D. Lester Kuhn began his woodworking career in Pennsylvania at the age of 10, working for mentor Jack Keltner at a custom cabinet and millwork shop until becoming manager of the shop at age 17. Les went on to run his own business for several years, until becoming an award-winning salesman and kitchen designer at Stuart Kitchens in Baltimore. In 1992 he returned to self-employment as a kitchen remodeler, and in 2003 he and his wife Delores moved to Smith Mountain Lake, where he now operates Kitchens at the Lake out of his home in Moneta.
Les has maintained a wide and loyal base of clients-turned-friends, often having served as their kitchen remodeler two or three times over the years.
Kitchens at the Lake is a kitchen designer and remodeler offering over 40 years of experience. We serve the Smith Mountain Lake region, including Goodview, Hardy, Wirtz, Glade Hill, Moneta, Huddleston, Sandy Level, Pen Hook, Union Hall, and beyond.
